2022 Average Wedding Cost in the U.S. Increased by 7.3% to $29,195
Spending for weddings increased to $29,195 in 2022 up 7.3% from $27,063 in 2021. This is another increase over the 2021 increase of 25%. Most of the increase in 2022 is based on higher service demand and inflationary pressure. Details of spending changes are listed below. Average number of guests increased to 127 in 2022 up from 124 in 2021. In addition, couples increased their travel distance to 56 miles from home up from 50 miles in 2021.
The latest data is based on 26,804 data samples from people getting married. This includes behavioral and survey data collected in 2022. Demographic distribution includes multiple ethnicities, education levels, occupation types, income levels, first, second, and third plus marriages, and ages 16 plus.
